SBHS Urgent Care offers discounted parking for parking at the South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center garage, located at 503 Congress Street. Validated parking for patients is a $5 flat fee. Just bring us your ticket, and we will apply the discount during check-in. Metered street parking is also available in the neighborhood but is limited.

Urgent care coverage varies by insurance carrier. Call your insurance company to ask about your specific coverage and if you have higher copays for urgent care. If you have an HMO plan, your insurance plan requires you to get authorization for out-of-network urgent care services. Visit our Insurance & Payment page to learn more about that process.

In some cases, yes. If you have a POS or HMO plan, your insurance plan requires you to get authorization for out-of-network urgent care services. Visit our Insurance & Payment page to learn more about that process.

In some cases, no. If you have a PPO plan, you do not need a referral. If your insurance-assigned PCP is a South Boston Community Health Center PCP, you do not need a referral to be seen at 505 Congress Street since this location is an extension of our main facility so considered in-network for you.

If you are planning to use your health insurance for your visit, please bring your insurance card. You should also bring a valid form of identification.

We treat adults and children with non-life threatening illnesses and/or injuries that need timely attention. If your condition is life threatening, you should immediately call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We do offer suture removal services if documentation of the removal order can be provided.

We treat a broad range of illnesses and injuries including but not limited to allergies, asthma, body aches, broken bones, bronchitis, burns, colds, cough, cuts, dehydration, ear infection, earache, fever, flu, headache, infections, rashes, sinusitis, sore throat, sprains and strains, std testing, strep throat, stomach pain, suture removal, upper respiratory infection, urinary tract infection and vomiting.

If your condition requires diagnostic X-ray, we will transport you to and from our sister site at 409 West Broadway (five minutes away) where we have an onsite radiology suite. Most lab samples can be taken onsite at 505 Congress Street.

If you are using your insurance for your visit, check to see what the co-pays are for your plan. If you have not met your annual deductible or a portion of your visit is not covered by insurance, those charges will be your responsibility.

Without insurance or financial assistance, all urgent care visits currently start at a base rate of $210 per visit, which does not include lab, radiology, immunizations, or other procedures.

At SBH Seaport Urgent Care, we do not refuse to treat patients due to an inability to pay for services. As an extension of the South Boston Community Health Center, Seaport Urgent Care offers the same sliding fee scale discount program to pay for out-of-pocket expenses associated with services provided.

SBHS Urgent Care also offers the same payment plan options for patients who are have difficulty paying their balances.
